Mine are done and at the accountant. I just need to sign and find out if I get any $$ back. I'm hoping I do so I can buy some fun accessories for the MacBook Pro I'm ordering.
Wish we'd gotten more back - silly Federal taxes. I work for them, you'd think they'd give me more money back!
He's going to be off work starting this Thursday and come back (hopefully) right after Easter. So about 2 1/2 weeks. Which would be a lot more difficult if it weren't for the tax money. Phew!
Not yet, I have it all put together just have to bring it to the tax man. Mine isn't due until April 30th but the hubby has to have his done when yours is due.
I'm not sure if I'm getting money back. I did freelance website designs for this company so the accountant said I may have to pay in. I only made like $1100 though so I can't see how I'd have
to pay in. I'm just hoping for the best at this point.
I haven't submitted mine yet because I'm still waiting for RRSP tax slips to come in.
But, I'll be sending all my info off right away so I can get my money back ASAP!!
Yeah, no money for two weeks is definitely not something that we're particularly ready for. But, thanks to our taxes, we have a little more breathing room.
I hope you don't have to pay in, glam!
Kiwi - so the Canadian deadline is April 30? Huh. Didn't know that!
Especially for the little bit I made freelancing. If I do pay it just won't seem worth it. There's suppposedly some thing with self-employment etc. All of this stuff gives me a headache.
And makes me want to buy shoes.
ALSW, maybe we should start a spring shoe 'wants' list!
DesignR, that's scary! So now do you just save most of the freelance income until the end of the year? I did save mine so I'm not too worried but paying in would still really suck.
I'm going to have to be more careful about that with my business too, we've got a whole 2 clients now so I'll have extra income next year too.
It doesn't matter whether you save them for the end of the year or not. What helps though (and I'm not good with this) is to reserve a third of whatever you make especially for taxes. So that
you see how much money you actually make if they were to take taxes out.
I didn't realize that it sucked so much to be self-employed. But I suppose that I shouldn't be surprised.
Spring shoe list! Although the brown boots are really for the remainder of winter. I swear I've been wearing the same two pairs of shoes for months now - bring on Spring!
DesignR, that is what I meant but now that I read my last reply it doesn't convey it very well. :timeforglamtogohome:
I think that's what I'll suggest to my partner, that we figure out a good system so we don't get stuck with a nasty surprise next year. Because I'm sure we'll be rolling in the dough soon.
I hope so anyway. Then I could quit my job.
ALSW, it feels that way to me too. Black boots, brown boots, gray boots pretty much all winter long. I've recently purchased two cute new pairs of spring/summer shoes and I'm so anxious to wear
them. But we're supposed to get a big snowstorm here next week. Sigh.
Black Boots, Brown Boots (but I don't like the ones I have), the occasional maroon clogs (love 'em!), and brown shoes. That's it. Of course it's going to snow - you bought shoes!
I always do my taxes right away on TurboTax. We don't have anything to really take to an accountant, so it's easy. Waiting for my direct deposit, Yay! I'm saving the money... the downturn in
the dollar is scaring me pretty badly. Yikes! :/

Not so good on the surgery, approximately how long

Yikes, I'd be hurting without 2 1/2 weeks pay.

Thanks, I hope not too.

I could go for some shoes myself. Some black Mary Jane style, brown boots, some new work brown shoes...Sorry, what were we talking about?
Glam, My husband and I got screwed on taxes because we do freelance work. It was literally a third of what we made this past year that went to taxes.
ALSW, maybe we should start a spring shoe 'wants' list!
