My Foxy Weekend
I had a very interesting walk last night. It was around 7:30pm, dark and rainy. I was going to take my dogs with me because I assumed no one else would be out walking in the rain but decided against it. They don't like the rain. So, my hubby & I got bundled up and off we went.
While we were walking I noticed in the corner of my eye a dog walking beside me without a leash. I stopped, turned and took a double take. Walking 6 feet away from me in a subdivision was a red fox. OH My Goodness he was soo cute. He continued to walk beside us for another 30 feet or so. We stopped, he stopped. We would stare at each other... he actually ALMOST came up to us because my hubby was making noises at him. Then he heard something and ran to a house. There was something in the grass. I am assuming a field mouse or something. I wish I had my camera. It was truly awesome. I live in the country but only 15mins from the big city. Who would have thought to see a fox walking through their subdivision!! Here is a pic of one in case you don't know what they look like.
Thought I would share me amazing experience with you all.

Post a CommentOh how fun! We have a really big park here in Seattle that is supposed to have foxes, but I've never seen one in the 27 years I've lived here. Thanks for sharing!
I've seen them a couple times by my house but that's about 12 miles out of town and we aren't in a subdivision so that's extremely rare that you saw one!

The hubby saw him a few weeks prior peeing in our front yard. LOL!! He is a social fox I guess.
Aww, handsome fellas.
