WARNING: Tire Valve Stem Caps
Okay I don't know how many of you out there are car crazy but I thought I would pass the warning along anyways. I am leasing a brand new car right now and to spruce it up I bought $2.00 valve stem caps & sleeves to make the rims complete (all chrome). Well, after a nasty winter the caps would not come of the tire at all. I took it into the dealership to see if they could get them off. They got them off but then later informed me that my $2.00 chrome valve stem caps seized onto my valve stem, they needed to be replaced, in the meanwhile they had to fix my tire pressure sensor. Well to make a long story short the grand total of this bill is $377.18!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It isn't covered under warranty because it is an aftermarket product. OMG!!! I spent $2 to make my car pretty and now it is costing me almost $400 to fix. I called the manufacturer of the caps and they are going to see what they can do for me, she was very nice. I just wanted to warn you all.
In case you don't know what they are, here is a pic of some BMW ones. (only good pic I could find)

I haven't gone to pick up my car yet. I don't want to pay.
I wouldn't either.

OMG! That sucks! You didn't buy those caps at the dealership? I would be so mad.
Nope I bought them at Canadian Tire.
Moral of the story - do not put aftermarket products on leases or cars that are under warranty still.
Speaking of Canadian Tire, we showed some Canadian Tire money to my brother-in-law in Finland and he totally believed it was our real money here!
