I am going to get together with a few friends and go see it. They were talking about opening night, even though we'll likely be dealing with mobs of crazies.
I have a few other friends that watched it too but they haven't said anything about going. Plus, they don't know any of the friends that I'm planning on going with so it shouldn't be more than
4 of us.
I only watched it because I had friends who rented the DVDs and then John's mom taped it for me to watch!
I'm with you, glam, I hope that I'm not disappointed and that it really shows the girls and how their lives have changed. I'm not exactly sure what I want from the movie, but I think if
Big/Carrie don't end up together I'll be unhappy.
Well, if you ever rent a season of it, I think you would like it Kiwi.
I actually didn't have HBO when it was on but got hooked when they started replaying it on TBS. But the actual dvd's are better because they aren't sensored.
No, you definitely wouldn't be behind if you rented the series now. Pieces of the show are really timeless - like their friendships. And that's the important part of it.
I started watching at University with the girls and we never watched them in order because we could only watch what we were able to download.
It was years later that I watched them in order when I bought the DVD's.
Anyways, my point - Kiwi you could definitely watch a few and not feel behind!
I will definitely be watching it in theatres, and probably more then once!
Yes, I really want to see it. I miss the show a lot and cant wait. I ll probably go see it when I m back in Canada though. I m sure it costs something like $30 for a ticket here.
Brunch and then going is a really cute idea. Very SATC. I never really cared about the fashions in the show (other than to make fun of some of Carrie's outfits) or that sort of thing. It was
about the girls, their friendship, and how they each dealt with each other and their relationship - and their outside relationships.
Well, girls, yesterday we had dinner at McDonalds. One McChicken meal plus one Big Mac and one cheeseburger cost us $35. And a 500ml bottle of water is $5. Its insane.
I'm in Norway. My husband got a job here and we're looking for an apartment right now. I mean, everything is crazy expensive here, but salaries are also really high. The country is really rich
because of the petrol.
Ah, that makes perfect sense. And I did hear today that in some theatres in NYC it can be $20 to go to a movie. So I guess $30 isn't that out of range.
It's around $7 here for a matinee and up to $12 for a night showing.
I also heard that ticket prices are going to rise because usually they're offset by the snacks and things. But with a lot of corn going towards ethanol products popcorn prices are going up and
therefore movie tickets too.
Yikes. I'll have to see what it is when I got to the movie. Maybe ticket prices are higher now, I'm not even sure. I haven't been to the theater in a couple years or so.
Same prices for movie tickets in Quebec City. Gas is about $2,80 a liter here. And I think one gallon is 3,7 liters. So yes, it's ridiculously expensive. About $10,36 a gallon.
No I won't be going to see SATC in a Theatre or otherwise. I got bored with the show before the end of the first season. I always get bored with shows that are all about gratuitous sex even
with the comedy. Desparate Housewives bored me in the same manner. Corny and predictable. None of my friends will bother either.
Yadayadayada...
It's the Seinfeld of Team Sugar Groups...
You know how Jerry, Elaine, George and even Kramer would just talk about whatever, that's what this group is about.

That I'm not up for. I'm not sure when the three of us will actually manage to get together to see it, but I would like to see it in theatres.
I simply don't know that many people who actually followed the show.
I have a few other friends that watched it too but they haven't said anything about going. Plus, they don't know any of the friends that I'm planning on going with so it shouldn't be more than 4 of us.
I'm just hoping the movie does the show justice.

Nope. Only because I never watched the show to begin with hahahaha. I don't have cable/satellite.
I only watched it because I had friends who rented the DVDs and then John's mom taped it for me to watch!

I think Big/Carrie will end up together but there'll be plenty of drama first.

I have thought about renting a few to see what the fuss is all about. But I thought it would be so behind now that I would find it funny.
Drama will ensue, of that I'm sure.

Yeah, in a few weeks, some girls and I are having brunch and then going to see the movie.
No kidding! $30 is insane, that's more than a DVD costs.
I agree ALSW, the show is timeless with the great friendships.

Maybe I'll rent some.
My favorite fashion aspect was Carrie and her SHOES!

You're in Finland right now, right? That's insane. Why is everything so incredibly expensive over there?
Some of those shoes were awesome. But some were so over the top!!!! Like the shoes when Miranda went into labor.

Really? It's only like $8 or $9 for a movie here.
I heard something on the news last night about gas and other stuff being a lot higher in Europe.

We usually go to a handful of summer blockbusters and that's about it.

*shakes head* That is ridiculous.

That is ridiculous. I should stop complaining!
Will definitley see in the theater. I really miss the show, it was so enjoyable to watch.
